Stroke and Geriatrics
|
Since 1983, Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan's (RIM) inpatient Stroke and Geriatric Service has been providing treatment for stroke, age-related disabilities and non-traumatic neurological disorders for patients of all ages. The goal of the program, is to help patients return to their homes and community at their highest level of functional, emotional and social independence.
To achieve this outcome, a team of rehab professionals with specialty training in strokes or non-traumatic neurological disorders, provides a comprehensive, integrated treatment plan tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
RIM's clinical expertise is backed by our extensive experience in treating this patient population. Each year nearly 600 patients are admitted to RIM's Stroke and Geriatric Unit which has a high success rate of returning patients back to their homes and back to the activities they once enjoyed.
